Lamoureuse is the dreamworld created by Zakiyyah, shaped by memory, craft, and a quiet devotion to beauty.
Born and raised in Mauritius, I grew up surrounded by ocean, light, and warmth, where I learned to find beauty in simple things. But in my community, art was never seen as essential, only a hobby. That shifted when I moved alone to Paris at sixteen.
For the first time, I experienced true creative and personal freedom. I explored different crafts until I found bead embroidery.
Its precision and intimacy felt natural. In 2023, while working a 9-to-5, I began building my small business around jewellery. Lamoureuse was born, not as a trend, but as a return to self.
Nature, especially the ocean, remains my deepest inspiration; vast, powerful, and unapologetic. That energy flows through my designs, alongside personal memories and travels. Though I create in Paris, Mauritius lives in everything I make.
Lamoureuse is more than jewellery. It’s a belief that art is essential, a language that connects us, carries stories, and honours tradition.
Each piece is made slowly and intentionally, celebrating emotion, softness, and the beauty of making by hand.
